About the DCF Kids Fund

In the beginning – The DCF Kids Fund was established in 1998 to supply emergency items such as diapers, hot meals, warm clothes, or a new toothbrush to abused and neglected children entering the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. We sent some foster children to summer camp and brought smiles to children’s faces with holiday gifts.

Today – The DCF Kids Fund continues to supply these crucial items needed every day by the children in our care and to offer very worthwhile programs for children. As our efforts and contributions have grown, however, we have been able to make it possible for even more foster children to attend summer camp and to participate in a variety of wonderful enrichment activities like music, dance and sports programs.

The Future – We hope to expand what we offer to impact many more children! Our goal is to provide basic necessities and enrichment opportunities to the 40,000 plus children served by the Department of Children and Families.
